Youth Sub-Committee Rally - Oakwood Park
17th - 19th July 2009

On arrival at Oakwood Park on Friday morning, the usual Rally area was a few inches under water! A decision was taken by the Rally Marshals to relocate to higher ground and when the vans started arriving the sunshine came too. It was a little disappointing that many people either decided to cancel last minute or just failed to show up.

Saturday morning, and again the sun was out once more. Everyone had a good time in the Park. It seems the older Ralliers were also out enjoying themselves, with a visit to the local Farm Shop and then onto the Cwm Deri vineyard (see top two pictures).

Saturday evening saw most Ralliers having a BBQ and the rain held off until late evening.

Sunday morning’s Flag was a bit of a wash out, the rain was really heavy and it was quite soggy underfoot

Thanks to all the Ralliers who braved the weather, with umbrellas up, they supported Flag and the Youth Sub-Committee Raffle.

Later Sunday morning a lot of the Youth visited the new Bluestone Leisure Park, located next to Oakwood Park, where they were able to swim in the Blue Lagoon. There was lots to do in the pool, it had a wave machine, rapid river, a few flume rides, lazy river and bubbling hot tubs.

Despite the wet conditions everyone was able to get away safely after an enjoyable weekend.
